Dean Odle Manipulates Private Conversations for Sermons
If you are a Christian who question some pastors, you are deemed as unscriptural, Satan, demon, and all manner of things. Some politicians are manipulators that we were warned about in the Bible. Jesus, Paul, and others in Bible calls this out as a real danger. Christians aren't immune to this kind of deception, making evil sound churchy. Church abuse is real, and seldom challenged.
I'll share my own story about church abuse (different church) later.
Scripture can be weaponized, and is weaponized by those whose motivation is their own agenda. The Bible is not to be a tool to accomplish our own will, Psalm 91:11-12 was quoted by Satan himself, as evidenced in Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13.
Prayers only work when you are aligned with God, not when trying to convince or dictate to God what your own will, wants, or fears are. I'll share more about that later. Prayer is simply not performative.
Dean starts his sermon with:
"Friend or foe, they watch, we live rent free in their heads"
He was late for church for this edit, thanks to my Facebook message. The sermon was 1 hour and 40 minutes long. I was alerted to this existing by a friend in Auburn.
Sermon Title: The World We Live In, Part 3
At the beginning, he uses an FBI insignia claiming fair use. Nice! Don't mind if I do the same!

Here is a Direct Link to the Video.
(I am NOT responsible for any headache and "what did I just watch?" if you click the above link!)
We saved a copy of the video file - just in case we have the second coming of the "Lord DARVO" - Deny, Accuse, Reverse Victim and Offender.

"There are people who call themselves Christian who do not accept what the word of God says." 2 Timothy 3:1-17. You don't say...
Rev. Odle lays the foundation... 22:06 in the video.
Odle refers to seducers, invoking Hermeneutics (text/language interpretations).
"The Greek word γόης (góēs) means imposter."
"These peoples, the deceivers, will wax worse and worse."
He's not the only that knows what Hermeneutics is, and there's more.
The word "γόης" has to do with seducing by charisma, performance, authority, rather than by misdirection. Misdirection is directly covered by πλάνος (plános), or if you want to deal with outright lies - ψευδής (pseudḗs). There are some who also impersonate righteousness ὑποκριτής (hypokritḗs).
Key Point: These Greek words deal with more than simple inconsistency, mistake, or misunderstanding. It deals with intentional and deliberate deception.
Now he goes into his story... 29:33 in the video.
He says that he receives a Facebook message from a guy that watches every week, whom he declines to quote by name: "You might be one of the most courageous teachers. I've always made fun of the FLAT EARTH COMMUNITY...." and a few other words... all of which are flattering, and fits the narrative that Rev. Odle supports.
He goes on to juxtapose and frame our conversation as evil and ignorant, by quoting the gentleman, who... well... I'm not sure this conversation even exists. It seemed fabricated.
"Sometimes people make dumb comments on my social media...."
"I get this from a guy who is a potential voter in Alabama."
Now he quotes me in my private conversation, publicly: 31:08.
"Oh my goodness wow, now I have to share the gospel of Pancake Planet...and some of your social media/websites....just...wow."
So far, Dean Odle has proven to fulfill the role of deceiver, deliberately, skillfully, and cunningly. Maybe he WOULD make a good politician.
- First, he attacks me in a private conversation, makes it a part of a public sermon in his sub-100 member church... but he also leaves that out of his quote.
That Greek word is ἀπάτη (apátē). Conceiling critical fact.
After I asked him about the Constitution, he did become hostile toward the question and test. As Christians, we are told that we MUST test people, and spirits. In his response to me, he rejected that.
Don't believe me? Take a look at 1 John 4:1, or 1 Thessalonians 5:21.
A key point in his 'sermon' today, included the validity of the Bible, so if he really believes that, it isn't trail mix. This applies. - In his sermon, he then tries to frame the quote as a "threat." That Greek word is δόλος (dólos), referring to crafty manipulation and misrepresenting intent.
Sharing his social media and website for criticism falls squarely under the 1st Amendment, which he wants to swear an oath of office to as Lt Governor.
Sharing his social media, website, if he was truly confident in what he is pandering, should have been celebrated. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. It may come to light that his claims are only supported by innuendo, out of context, like the quote from our conversation.
What is he afraid of?
I think I know... By sharing his teachings with voters (with or without comment), instead of spreading his message of the gospel of flat earth, government conspiracy, and faked moon landings, it might mean that he loses the primary election.
Why frame it as a "threat"?
This is a narcissistic tactic, often used by politicians to shut down other speech. Re-frame the intent instead of the substance. DARVO.
It does check out with what other s have mentioned. His church had a rather scathing Google Review from a while back, and an anti-Dean Odle Facebook out there. - IMPORTANT POINT: He claims that he wrote back to me, but he couldn't have. He was blocked before that, because I was honestly done - and I knew he would double-down.
Scroll down to see screen captures.
The Greek word for that is ψεύδος (pseûdos)
Why would he lie about replying back? I don't know.
I'm sure someone will say "weren't you too strong in your criticism?" I don't think I was. I was being plain to him that I believed he was hostile toward another conservative - before I learned about his....teachings.
Did I respond back in anger? You bet I did! Could I have been more artful to make it where there was nothing he could say to make me look like "the jerk?" Could I have been nicer? Sure. I'll accept that criticism.
That doesn't change the fact that he decided to directly level attacks toward me, name calling me a "democrat" or basically calling me someone who "needs a safe space" - typical hateful responses when you want to attack the person, not the point or truth... and then he twisted it in a way most favorable to himself. - It's almost like he is trying to label me as... not a Christian, literally Satan? Ignorant? Dumb comments? I give up...
At the end of the day when I blocked Dean Odle, I was honestly without words, taken back as to what he actually published, claiming the authority of the Bible and Christ. This is not how a pastor should behave, nor a Lt Gov of the State of Alabama.
The real story... Receipts! I have them!
I was initially trying to understand what he was about, helping myself and my wife.
The initial question was related to the US Constitution, and this foundation was conspicuously missing from his sermon. This is after he attacked me for asking the question, about whether or not he will faithfully uphold the US Constitution.
Here's a taste... the end of our LENGTHY conversation, where he claimed he replied, and did not. This man is a real manipulator.

He says that rich people, evil people conspire... against the lord, he says. I'm not rich, monetarily. Not with barely 80 followers, many of which I don't think would have my back.
Sorry if that offends - that's how I see it.
I did listen to his whole sermon, to see if there was anything redeemable as to his point, where he's coming from. He's a good presenter.
It seems like he did listen to my link of Skillet's song "White Horse," which refers to the end times prophecies where evil people suppress the truth, but lose in the end. Maybe he changed his sermon in anger after listening to the song, but this song gives me great hope as to which side wins the final battle between heaven and hell, good and evil.
He then goes into different nuclear operations covered in some past conspiracies. He goes on to share photos and quotes of other people, such as Pastor Greg Locke. I wonder if those quotes are way out of context too?
Conclusion
I disrecommend and cannot endorse Dean Odle for Lt Governor, in both primary and general election. Reasons are myriad.
Rev. Odle does not have the strength of character, Constitutional alignment, nor temperament to be the Lt Governor or Governor of the State of Alabama.
This man should never be allowed to wield the power of Alabama's Executive Branch (inclusive of commanding ALEA, AL State/National Guard).
I'm conservative, a Christian, and I went independent after seeing things slip because of my Christian values. I'm not a liberal, never have been in 20 years, and won't ever be.
Party at this point doesn't matter, because I cannot support those who deliberately mischaracterize the words of a potential voter and constituent, simply checking up on what a candidate believes about governance. It is worse when a pastor and self-proclaimed end-times prophet twists the Bible. Probably not over.
I'm sure he'll make up some kind of conspiracy theory about what I have said here.
Remember - test the spirits, test the politician, and do not allow yourselves to be deceived.
